Kamakhya P Tasa For Rajya Sabha | CONFIRMED

The BJP Central Election Committee has decided to field Former BJP MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa for the ensuing Biennial Election to the Council of States from Assam.

While, AGP leader Birendra Prasad Baishya will be the consensus candidate of the BJP-AGP-BPF coalition – announced on Sunday.

Following the completion of the Lok Sabha polls in Assam, the Election Commission (EC) issued notification for holding polls for the two seats.

The seats are held by senior Congress members, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and politician Santiuse Kujur.

The election for the two Rajya Sabha seats will be held on 7th June.

The last date for filing nominations is 28th May, while scrutiny of the nominations will be held on 29th May.
