"Why can't Bengali organisations organise a gathering?" asked Purkayastha. "If every one can organise meetings, then why can't Bengalis?", he added.

Speaking about the reason behind not allowing the massive Bengali gathering, the Congress MLA questioned that is a threat to law and order then what is the government for?. After informing before hand, these issues have to be looked after.

"If the government cannot do so, then they should resign", claimed the MLA.

Terming Mrinal Hazarika and Jiten Dutta as nincompoops, Purkayastha claimed that they have been making communal comments.

"When a Bengali or a person belonging to Islam post something on Facebook, they are immediately arrested, then why is no action taken against them?" asked Purkayastha.
