Kingpin of Cattle Smuggling Arrested

Cattle smuggling from neighboring Bangladesh is in rise and it continues unabated in the state. In order to prevent the smuggling business of cattle, the police were highly alert and in an operation led by DCP Crime (Guwahati branch), the crime branch of Guwahati police along with its Bihar counterpart have arrested the Kingpin of the cattle smuggling from Gopalganj area of the state.

The kingpin, Mohammad Sarfaraj has been allegedly running the smuggling racket and used to smuggle them to the neighboring country Bangladesh through the international border of Assam.

Commissionerof Police, Deepak Kumar said that they have so far arrested six cattlesmugglers from different parts of the state. He said that Sarfaraj played animportant role in smuggling cattles from different parts of India especiallyNorth India.

Deepak Kumar also assured of busting the entire racket running in the state and that they will arrest the other persons associated with the cattle smuggling racket.
