KMSS protests over citizenship bill

Pratidin Bureau

Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS)  organised a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 at Dighalipukhuri.

The protesters will submit a memorandum to the DC against the BJP's recent endorsement to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, that seeks to grant citizenship to illegal immigrants belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who entered India till December 31, 2014.

KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi also took a jibe at AGP and accused them of being inclined only to being in power and ignoring the issues of the state. He also said AGP remained silent over the Citizenship Amendment Bill issue and asked them to break alliance with BJP and stand for the people.
