Police and security forces arrested a militant of the Karbi People's Liberation Tigers (KPLT) from the Umteli area under Hamren on Saturday.

Police seized a 7.65 mm pistol, seven live ammunitions and two mobiles from him.

"On receiving the information about the activities of KPLT militants at Umteli, a joint team of police and security forces launched an operation in the area and arrested one militant from the spot. He was identified as Robin Ronghang alias Dhanshing. However, the other cadres managed to escape before our staff arrived," said a top police official.
