‘Laden’ kills 3 in Goalpara

A wild elephant known as 'Laden' killed threeincluding a woman at Matia area under Goalpara district on Tuesday. According tolocals, the elephant has been moving around in the area for the last couple ofyears, damaging the crops and houses.

As per the reports, the deceased have been identified as Mijanur Rahman, Jahanara Khatun, and Minati Kalita.

Laden, the elephant attacked two of the victims, whilethey went to the woods in search of firewood. The duo died on the spot. On theother hand, the elephant killed another one in the morning.

Meanwhile, three other sustained serious injuriesduring the incident and were undergoing treatment at a hospital.
