Landslide Injures Two in Itanagar

Itanagar has been reported with another massive landslidein National Highway due to incessant rains that triggered in almost all partsof the Northeast.

Two injured persons have been rescued from the site whileit has been suspected that one person is still trapped under the debris.

The communication of National Highway No 415 has been interrupted. However, rescue operation is on by NDRF, ITBP and CRPF with five numbers of excavators.

Many vehicles have also been damaged in the landslide andthe administration suspect that more landslides might take place due tocontinuous rainfall.

It is to be mentioned that since last one week there have been several dwelling houses that have been completely or partially damaged due to landslide and flash floods.

It has been reported that seven houses have completelybeen damaged bear ISBT due to boundary wall collapse earlier this week whileanother house was damaged near DNGC at Vivek Vihar, two houses were damagednear Lower Rakap Colony and one house has been damaged near 6 kilo Bamboo depotbetween Itanagar-Naharlagun.
