Leopard on the prowl at IIT-Guwahati

Tensed situation prevails at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati after a leopard was traced inside the institute on Friday. The security guards deployed outside the institute's director's quarter traced the leopard near the quarter.

Meanwhile, a 40-member team of forest-guards reached the institute campus to trap the leopard. They have tied a goat in a cage to lure and trap the big cat.

On the other hand, a carcass of a porcupine was also found near the director's quarter.

"Paw marks have been detected and we are suspecting that there is more than one leopard in the campus," said a forest official.
