Lost hope in NRC: Himanta

Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that he has lost hope in the present form of the NRC. Speaking to media, the Minister said, "We have lost hope in the present form of the NRC as it had left off so many genuine Indians.

Sarmafurther said that his party is considering a fresh strategy on how to drive outillegal migrants. "The list cannot be viewed as a red letter for the Assamesesociety," Sarma added.

Accordingto NRC authorities, 3,11,21,004 people were found eligible for inclusion in theFinal NRC leaving out 19,06,657 people. The left out people also included thenames of those, who did not submit claims.
