Lower Assam Reels Under Flash Floods

Every year with the onset of monsoon, Assam reels under flash floods and this year also the scenario has not changed as most of the areas in the state are under heavy flood and the water level is also increasing at an alarming rate mostly in Lower Assam districts.

Many villages of the state are now submerged under water. Rivers such as the Brahmaputra and Jia Bharali are flowing above danger level in two places.

The Kaldila River in South Bajali is at a danger level and the water of the River has submerged many villages.

Onthe other hand, the water level in Kampur has also increased and erosion tookplace at historical Madhav Than at Kampur. The locals expressed anger againstwater resource department for not taking any measures to save the historicalMadhav Than situated in the area.
