In asensational incident, a gas leak was reported at the LPG bottling plant ofIndian Oil in North Guwahati on Thursday evening.

Theofficials have issued a warning and evacuated the staff from the plant immediatelyafter the leak was reported.

"Therewas a gas leak for about an hour," an employee of the plant said, adding, "LPGworth Rs. 2.50 crore leaked during the incident."

Tensionprevailed for more than an hour in areas near the plant after the leak wasdetected. The officials are yet to reveal the reason behind the incident.
