LS Results | ‘Dry Day’ declared in Kamrup (M)

'Dry Day' has been declared in theKamrup Metropolitan District on May 23. The Kamrup (M) DC Biswajit Pegu bannedthe sale and serving liquor on the day of counting of votes of Lok SabhaElections, 2019.

All Bonded Warehouses, IMFL Retail Shops including Club, Hotel and Country Spirit Shops will remain closed during the Dry Days. Further, during this period the storage of liquor by individual shall be curtailed.

As per the order issued by the DC, "No one will be exempted from following this strict order." Any violation of the order shall be dealt with under the relevant provision of Assam Excise Act.
