Majuli: Doctor faces wrath of public

Amidthe rising insecurity among the medical officers working at the Tea Gardens inAssam, an angry mob allegedly attempted to assault another doctor in Majuli,this afternoon.

According to reports, the relative of a patient have attempted to attack the medical officer of Garmur Civil Hospital in Majuli. Medical staff of the hospital alleged that they were being harassed by the relatives of a patient admitted in the hospital.

Meanwhile, two people have been detained in connection with the incident. The identity of the doctor has not been revealed yet.

Itmay be mentioned here that on Saturday a patient named Samara Manjhi breathedhis last at the hospital of Teok TE. Following the death of the patient, theangry locals brutally beaten the hospital authority and Dr Deben Dutta. Duringthe incident Dr Dutta sustained serious injuries and referred to Jorhat MedicalCollege and Hospital (JMCH), but unfortunately, he expired while undergoingtreatment.
