The Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK) has staged a protest at Majuli against the murder of Rituparna Pegu in Guwahati. Hundreds of protestors took out an agitating procession from Gormur to Deputy Commissioner's office and gheraoed the district administration office.

The protestorsdemanded hanging of the culprits and demanded justice for Pegu.

The TMPK membersalso submitted memorandums to different departments through the deputycommissioner.
