In a shocking turn of events, a tragic accident occurred last evening in Assam's Majuli.

A boat carrying cattle fooder sank near a wooden bridge in Srirampuria village. In an attempt to rescue the sinking boat, around 20 persons got on the wooden bridge, and soon after the bridge broke causing people to fall in the river. Several people have been injured.  However, there were no fatalities reported.
