Manipur missionary school burned down

In a horrific incident, Manipur's one of the oldest Christian missionary schools, St. Joseph Higher Secondary School in Kakching was burnt down on Friday. Reportedly the instance occurred after the school had taken disciplinary action was taken against six students.

Police has filed a case and has begun an investigation.

News agency ANI quoting the Principal of the school, Father Dominic reported, "A total of 10 rooms are destroyed. Two of them had important documents, files and equipment".

As per reports, the expelled students along with a local organisation might be behind the incident, suspect the school authorities. The school has around 1400 students.

The disciplinary action was taken after one of the six students taking to social media allegedly insulted a teacher and made an attempt to malign the reputation of the school. However, the Principal had informed that although the disciplinary action was initiated a week ago, the students were still allowed to attend classes.
