Manipur Police Arrest 4 Drug Peddlers

Manipur Police on Thursday informed that four persons werearrested including a drug supplier from Lilong and Porompat areas of Manipur.

The operation was carried out by a combined team of Thoubal district police and All Lilong Anti Drug Committee and they also seized one revolver along with six live rounds, one single barrel gun, two mobile phone handset and Rs 554700 in cash.

"On interrogation they disclosed that they purchased theseized drugs from one Md Riyajuddin and in follow up action, Lilong policeassisted by the members of All Lilong Anti Drug Committee rushed to LilongTurel Ahanbi Mathak and raided the residence of Md Riyajuddin and recovered thedrugs," Thoubal SP Sarangthem informed the media.

Two of the accused have been identified as Md Sabi Ahmed andMd Hassan.

A case has been registered against the accused under theNarcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act.
