Manipur’s COVID-19 Tally Crosses 3000 Marks

The COVID-19 tally of Manipur crossed 3000 marks with 63 new cases detected on Tuesday evening. The total numbers of cases in the state now stand at 3,018.

In the last 24 hours, 64 persons including 25 female from general population and 34 from Central Armed Police Force, were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases at Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratories of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), District hospital Jiribam and Imphal West RAT in last 24 hours, a health department press release said on Tuesday evening.

They belong to the districts of Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching, Chandel, Tamenglong and Imphal East, it added.

Only one from Tamenglong is a returnee from other state.

All the 63 are locals without any significant travel history.

"The numbers of active and recovered cases are 1197 and 1814 respectively, "the release added.

"The cumulative number of deaths is seven. The recovery rate is 60.10 per cent."

Informing that they are being shifted to the COVID Care facilties, it stated that all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the past 24 hours, 48 persons were discharged from JNIMS (4), COVID care centers of Meitram, Senapati, Tamenglong, RD Wing, and Jiribam AR after they were found COVID-19 free through RT PCR test, it said.
