A massivefire broke out at the Amingaon Railway Bazaar area in the wee hours onWednesday and around seven shops were gutted in the fire.

According toreports, the fire broke out at a commercial establishment and spread to thenearby shops and residential areas. Property worth Rs. 1crore has been destroyedin the fire.

Seven firebrigades from Panbazaar, Pandu, Baihata Chariali, North Guwahati, Lakhara andHajo reached the spot to douse the flames. However, no casualties have been reportedand the fire has been brought under control.

Localssuspect that the fire caused due to short-circuit from a shop.
