A major fire broke out at the Fancy Bazar area of Guwahati on Tuesday morning.  The fire broke out at a garbage dump in Fancy Bazar's  busy Hem Baruah Road and within minutes the fire spread to the nearby settlements.

While the fire engulfed a press and five houses, the fire brigade managed to rescue people from the spot. There has been no reports of causalities so far. Several fire engines are at the spot trying to put out the fire

Similar incident occurred at Guwahati's  Maligaon area on Tuesday. Fire broke out at a railway quarter and engulfed four other houses. There has been no reports of causalities so far and the fire fighters have  succeeded in dousing the fire.
