Massive Fire Breaks Out at Lanka

A massive fire broke out at Lanka in Hojai district on Sunday night on the occasion of Deepawali. Two shops have been gutted in fire at the Derapathar market in Lanka.

According to reports, the fire caused allegedly due to the earthen lamps that have been lit inside the shops on the occasion of Diwali. The shops of Niranjan Debnath and Dhananjay Debnath have been gutted in fire destroying properties worth lakhs of rupees.

However, the fire tenders immediately reached the spot and successfullydoused the fire.

It may also be mentioned that fire from different places has been reported on the day of Deepawali which caused due to firecrackers.
