Measures taken to ensure smooth polls: Assam DGP

With only few days left for the Assam to go polling for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, DGP Kuladhar Saikia has stated that all measures are being taken care to ensure free and smooth polls in the state.

Speaking to the media in Guwahati on Monday, Saikia informed that 33 additional companies of security forces have arrived in the state.

The DGP said that vulnerable mapping is being done by the security forces before the upcoming polls. Saikia also said that he held a meeting with neighbouring DGPs on various security concerns.

He said social media is being monitored regularly at district level ensuring action to be taken if any violation of Model Code of Conduct is detected.
