MGVK Bhanu all set to join Congress

Senior IAS officer and Additional Chief Secretary to the Assam Government, MGVK Bhanu, who retired from Government service last year, said he would join in Congress party on February 11.

According to sources, Bhanu is a strong contender to contest in upcoming Lok Sabha election from Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency. Few months ago, Bhanu said to media that he would stay in Tezpur after his retirement and would join public life. It may be mentioned that Bhanu has a special relation with Tezpur. He did many developmental works during his posting at Tezpur.

Known for his activeness and strong personality as a bureaucrat, Bhanu strongly slammed many corrupt subordinates by issuing suspension orders.
