MLA Numal Momin receives death threat on phone

Assam BJP MLA Numal Momin on Friday alleged that he received a death threat on his mobile phone few days ago, after which he lodged an FIR in Dispur Police station.

Reportedly, the MLA had received phone calls from an unknown number (+4410526) many times.

Details of the call and the phone number from which the call was made have been shared with the police.

Police confirmed that the calls were coming from Colombia.

The miscreant threatened MLA Numal Momin during the conversation and set a deadline of seven days. However, the miscreant had not disclosed identity. There was no immediate comment from police.

Numal Momin alleged that he received the death threat from an unknown man through internet calls. As per initial reports, it is being said that he picked the call for the first time, however, the caller didn't disclose his motive. Later, he called again and when Momin picked the call the caller allegedly threatened to kill him.

The motive of the caller behind the threats could not be ascertained.
