Moni Madhab announces to join AGP

Pratidin Bureau

Moni Madhab Mahanta, the recently resigned AASU leader, today announced that he will join regional political party AGP on Wednesday (March 20). The younger brother of the AGP working president Keshab Mahanta is viewed as a strong contender of AGP from Kaliabor.

Notably, after the AGP-BJP alliance, BJP has decided to leave Kaliabor constituency for AGP. The Lok Sabha seat is now being represented by Congress' Gaurav Gogoi.

Moni Madhab has resigned from AASU on last Thursday (March 14), amid speculation of joining the AGP. He had been holding the responsibility of a Vice-President in AASU.

However, AGP is yet to finalize the list of the three candidates to contest from Kaliabor, Barpeta and Dhubri constituencies.
