Monk abused – 15 children brought back to Assam

15 children – all hailing from Karbi Anglong district in Assam were studying in an institution based on Buddhist ideology called "Prasanna Jyoti Buddhist School and Meditation Centre" at Mastipur village in Bodh Gaya, Bihar.

Recently, a Buddhist monk was taken into police custody for allegedly sexually assaulting 15 boys of Assam who studied at the school run by the monk in Bodh Gaya.

Town Deputy SP Rajkumar Shah of Bodh Gaya said that the children had complained that they were thrashed, mistreated and sexually abused in the school.

On Wednesday, the 15 children had been brought to Diphu in Karbi Anglong. As per Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's direction, district administration of Karbi Anglong brought back the 15 children to Assam.
