Myanmar Army Occupies NSCN (K) Headquarters

Pratidin Bureau

In a recent development, headquarter of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) has been occupied by the Myanmar Army. Reports suggest that the Army has taken control of the headquarter in the Sagaing Region without a shot being fired.

However, no official confirmation has been made till now in this regard by the Myanmar Army. But reports suggest that NSCN (K) withdrew its troops and let the Myanmar Army occupy its headquarters.

It has been assumed that NSCN (K) let the Army took its HQ, in order not to disrupt the peace process between NSCN (K) and the government. A Ceasefire agreement was signed in April 2012 in between NSCN (K) and the government.
