Nagaland declared “Disturbed Area” for 6 months under AFSPA

Union Home Ministry has declared the entire state of Nagaland as "Disturbed Area" for another 6 months with effect from June 30. Using powers vested in the Central Government by Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, the order was issued via a notification.

It has been stated in the notification issued that the situation in Nagaland is disturbed and dangerous, and therefore, presence of Indian Army, along with the local police, is necessary.
