Nagaland Governor takes additional charge of Manipur

Nagaland Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya has taken the additional charge of Manipur due to the absence (on leave for a month) of state Governor Dr Najma Heptulla.

Acharya had been sworn in as the Governor of Manipur at Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal on Thursday. Justice Lanusungkum Jamir of High Court of Manipur administered the oath of office to the Governor.

Along with his own duties,the Nagaland Governor will at the same time discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh along with MLAs, top civil and police officials attended the swearing-in ceremony.
