New state-of-the-art nursing school inaugurated in Numaligarh

Pratidin Bureau

Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday inaugurated the VKNRL School of Nursing in Numaligarh as part of CSR initiative of Numaligarh Refinery and Vivekananda Kendra.

The state-of-the-art school is expected to herald a new dawn of nursing education in Assam and will give significant boost to the State's health sector.

Inaugurating the institute, the CM said that the school would provide an excellent platform to empower women from under-privileged families in the vicinity by skilling them in disciplines of nursing and midwifery.

"The school is named after the great Swami Vivekananda and I urge all trainee nurses of the institute to imbibe human values of the great saint in their work culture and carry forward their dedicated and noble service to the society", CM Sonowal added.
