The Rangiya Division of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone has allotted one complete coach exclusively for women in two passenger trains catering to the need of the rising demand of women passengers.

The facility which is available in two passengertrains with No 55817 and 55809 running from Bongaigaon to Guwahati wasoperational since July 26.

Meanwhile, the Railway Police Force (RPF), Rangiya division recently conducted an awareness campaign at Rangapara station regarding the safety and security of women passengers and interacted with them.

The women passengers while interacting with the RPF have come to know that they don't want male passengers in the compartments to travel with the ladies and the guidelines should be followed accordingly. On the other hand, they were sensitized about the security helpline no 182.
