NIA grants bail plea of KMSS leader Manash Konwar

Pratidin Bureau

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Monday granted the bail plea of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Manash Konwar.

Advocates Ziaur Rahman and Santanu Borthakur had argued for Konwar against the case filed against him by NIA.

Konwar was arrested in January last for his active participation in the anti-CAA protest along with his associates Bitu Sonowal and Dharjya Konwar.

Notably, all the KMSS leaders were in jail when they have been infected with COVID-19 except Manash Konwar who was tested negative.

The KMSS and SMSS members across the state have staged protests demanding the immediate release of Akhil Gogoi and his associates and to provide advanced treatment for all the leaders.
