No Guarantor for Mudra Loans: Tripura CM

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said on Wednesday that no guarantors are required any more for Mudra loans while attending a meeting.

The CM stated this while he attended a state levelbankers' committee meeting as a Chairman for Tripura at Pragya Bhavan inAgartala. The meeting was also attended by state chief secretary UVenkataswarlu and general managers of various banks including the RBI andNABARD.

Deb said that the key issues discussed in themeeting are how the people of the state can get bank loan through variousschemes related to agriculture, horticulture, mudra, education, MSME etc. sothat the people of the state can become self-employed.

CM Deb further stated that there have been incidentswhen bank guarantors were demanded against mudra loans and which is against therule and a hurdle for the small entrepreneurs to take benefit of the said loan.
