Assam'saward winning artist Benu Mishra is no more.

Aged 80, Mishra breathed his last at his Kahilipara residence, who had not been keeping well for a few days.

Bornin Barpeta in 1939, the late artist has been a part of Guwahati since 1946. Hestudied art at Shantiniketan in West Bengal.

Mishra was the pioneer of GuwahatiArtists' Guild, formed in 1976, which is now an invaluable platform for artistsin the state.
