In asuccessful mission on Saturday night, one person has been arrested by thePolice from Howraghat area under Karbi Anglong district along with tiger bonesand skin. The Royal Bengal tiger is believed to have been killed in Jaipongarea of Karbi Anglong.

The arrestedwas identified as Amar Timung. He hails from Diphu town. The accused have been bookedunder several sections of the 1972 Wildlife Protection Act and relevantsections of the Forest Rights Act. However, another member of the gang successfullyabsconded from the scene.

Meanwhile, the Police have started a thorough investigation and their interrogation is currently on. Police have also recovered scooter from them.
