Padma Hazarika to catch ‘Laden’!

Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika will help Assam Forest Department to catch 'Laden', the elephant that recently killed as many as five people in Goalpara district. Assam Forest Department has asked MLA Hazarika to help the department to control Laden that has been terrorising the Matia area in Goalpara.

According to reports, MLA Hazarika will be visitingthe area with two trained elephants from Sootea. "People have made me an MLAand during this crisis, it is important for me to be with them," said MLAHazarika.

It may be mentioned here that the elephant has beennamed 'Laden' by the locals. It has been learned that in the last five years,the elephant has allegedly killed 55 people. 'Laden' was thrown out of his herdaround two years ago, after a likely quarrel with its most dominant malemember.
