Panchayat Polls: BJP holds review meeting for second consecutive day

Assam State BJP for second consecutive day on Saturday reviewed the preparations of the party for the upcoming Panchayat election. Party president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and various others senior and district level workers of the party were also present at Brahmaputra State Guesthouse during the review meeting.

"We will begin our organizational works from today itself," said Ranjeet Dass adding, "110 coordinators will work in every constituency." Dass also informed that the coordinators will be at the constituencies till the counting of votes.

While asked about possible coalition in the panchayat polls with the current allies, Dass said that they have authorized the district committees to take that decision.

The Panchayat polls will be held on December 5 and December 9 in two phrases in 26 districts and 14 civil sub-divisions. The counting will take place on December 12. The last date for filing nomination for the first phrase is 15th November whereas the nomination filing last date for the second phrase is 19th November.
