Papon voices against Citizenship Bill

Pratidin Bureau

After Zubeen Garg voiced against the much-debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and different artists staged protest across the State including the torchlight march on Wednesday evening, another heartthrob of Assam, Angarag Papon Mahanta also extended his opposition to the Bill.

Speaking to Pratidin Time, the playback singer said, "We always promote our Assamese culture across the globe. If the bill becomes an act, our colourful culture will be hampered and we cannot let it happen," said Papon.

He also extended his support to Zubeen Garg, who in a letter to CM Sarbananda Sonowal asked to take strict action against the Bill.
