People Throng in Large Numbers to Pay Tribute to Tarun Gogoi

People thronged in large numbers at Sankardeva Kalakshetra to pay last tribute to the mortal remains of the former chief minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi. Gogoi passed away on Monday evening at GMCH.

From youngsters to octogenarian, everyone thronged to offer their last homage to the veteran Congress leader. People expressed grief over the sad demise of Gogoi who won hearts of lakhs of people from his kind behaviour and work which he did during his tenure as the Chief Minister for 15 years. He served the people of the state and nation during his tenure both as chief minister and a national leader.

The love and affection that people showed from the time when he was under treatment at GMCH since August 26 when he was detected with COVID-19 till his last breath proved how kind he was by heart and always showed path to the young ones and became inspiration for many.

People wiped in tears while paying tribute to the veteran politician. His last rites will be performed tomorrow with full state honours at Navagraha crematorium.
