Plasma donors to get priority for employment: Himanta

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday informed details about plasma therapy and donation for coronavirus infection in the state.

The minister while addressing the media said any recovered symptomatic COVID-19 patient can donate their plasma to a COVID-19 patient undergoing treatment, "Plasma donors will get priority help from the government for employment".

One can call 104 to donate their plasma at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. A patient can give their plasma up to three months.

Two patients have received plasma till date at GMCH.

The minister also said, "A recovered patient from another state can also donate their plasma and arrangements will be provided for their travel and accommodation".
