Sonai Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted betel nut syndicate and seized eight trucks of betel nut.

A team of Sonai Police received input about the illegal trafficking of betel nut from Mizoram.

Reportedly, the seized trucks had no valid permissions or challans. The betel nut suppliers made bogus challans at Bhaga Bazar in Cachar. The betel nuts were bought by Algapur's resident Anjan Paul.

The case involves fraudulent challans, tax evasion on the taxable value of huge amount of betel nuts.
