Polls in Tripura East postponed

Pratidin Bureau

The Election Commission on Tuesday deferred the polling of the Lok Sabha elections in Tripura East constituency from April 18 to April 23 saying the prevailing law-and-order situation there is not conducive for holding free and fair poll.

Based on the ground and intelligence reports, "miscreant elements" may thwart the polling process in the constituency. That's why EC postponed the poll process, Polling will now be held on April 23.
