On theoccasion of the 73rd Independence Day, a walkathon had beenorganised from Dhing Stadium to Batadrava Police Station today, under the aegisof Dhing Town Mandal and Dhing Sports Association.
The rally had been flagged off by actor turned MLA Angoorlata Deka and well known actor Ravi Sarma.
Speakingon the occasion, Sarma said, "Like the walkathon today, all the people of Assamshould come out together for the development and the betterment of the nation".
When askedabout his move to join BJP, the actor said, "Our lives have always been spentprotesting, so this time it feels it will move from all these and demands willbear fruits. The longstanding demand of a film policy has also been passed. Therefore,I am hopeful that it is during this very government's time we have a brightfuture".
DhingExpress Hima Das' father was also present at the event.
