Assam young cricketer Riyan Parag has been picked for the next season of IPL in the latest auction held on Tuesday. The youth cricketer from Guwahati has been picked up for Rs. 20 lakh by Rajasthan Royals.

Riyan was the leading run-scorer for Assam in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 248 runs in seven matches. He is a hard-hitting batsman and a leg-break bowler who was selected for ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup. Riyan is the second Assamese player after Abu Nechim to get an IPL contract.

Rajasthan Royals pick up three players in the third and final round. Manan Vohra (Rs 20 lakh), Ashton Turner (Rs 50 lakh) and Riyan Parag (Rs 20 lakh) all went to the Royals for their base price. It is to be mentioned that Rajasthan Royals returned to Indian Premier League in 2018 after serving a two-year suspension and finished fourth in the previous edition.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh sold for his base price of Rs 1 crore to Mumbai Indians, after going unsold earlier.
