Rajen Borthakur wins from Rangapara

AfterBijoy Malakar in Ratabari, another BJP candidate, Rajen Borthakur won in theAssembly by-election from Rangapara constituency by a record margin of 50,154votes against Congress candidate Kartik Kurmi.

Rajen Borthakur secured 78,175 votes while Kurmi secured 28,021 votes in the Rangapara Assembly constituency.

Meanwhile,BJP candidate in Sonari is leading against Congress and AIUDF candidate inJania in leading with a huge margin.

Theby-polls to these constituencies were necessitated after sitting BJP MLAsPallab Lochan Das (Rangapara), Topon Gogoi (Sonari) and Kripanath Mallah(Ratabari) along with Congress MLA Abdul Khaleque (Jania) were elected to theLok Sabha.
