Rift continues between AGP-BJP workers

Pratidin Bureau

Though, AGP and BJP have come to an alliance in the State, the grass-root workers of both the parties are still upset with the decision. The rift between the party workers again came to light on Tuesday when a large number AGP workers boycotted a joint party meeting called by the regional party and BJP in Kaliabor.

The meeting was attended by AGP president Atul Bora, AGP minister Keshab Mahanta, BJP MLA Mrinal Saikia and a large number of BJP workers. Interestingly, only a few members of AGP have turned up during the meeting. Sources said that several AGP members in Kaliabor have decided to choose NOTA over their party candidate after the leaders' decision of fighting LS Polls along with BJP.

On the other hand, BJP block president and secretary boycotted a meeting called by Dhansiri district AGP to discuss election strategies in the area. The regional party had earlier ended the alliance with the saffron party over the CAB.
