Sahitya Sabha Poll: Padum Rajkhowa withdraws nomination

The current secretary-general of Asam Sahitya Sabha Padum Rajkhowa withdraws nomination for the post of same. The Asam Sahitya Sabha gears up for the elections to the posts of its president, vice president, and general secretary for a two-year term from 2020 to 2022.

Overall 7 nominations were filed for the post of president,4 each for the post of vice president and secretary-general respectively. Todayis the last date for withdrawing nomination. The nomination papers will bescrutinised from October 12 to October 15 and after that, the final list ofcandidates will be declared.

The voting for various posts of Asam Sahitya Sabha willbegin on November 1 and continue to December 10.

Members of the different district and zonal branches of thesabha will be able to cast their votes via postal ballot.
