SEBA hikes HSLC exam fee

Pratidin Bureau

All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) on Monday protested against the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) for increasing HSLC and High-Madrassa examination fee. The board had decided to hike the fees.

The students are now asked to pay Rs 650/- against the old fee of Rs 500/- for the HSLC exam, while the annual recognition subscription fee for the schools to be increased from Rs 500/- to Rs 800/-.

The protestors also suggested that the hike will affect the poor students for appearing the examination.

The students termed the hike unnecessary and arbitrary.

"At a time when results are being delayed, burdening students with additional fee is unwarranted. Between the assessment mess and exam fee hike, the students have reached their tolerance limit"- said AIDSO member.
