Several Lakh Unaccounted Cash Seized Across Assam

Ahead of the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, the Assam police seized several lakhs of unaccounted cash from different parts of the State on Monday night.

Acting on a tip off, a team on police and SST carried search operation to recover Rs. 6 lakh in cash from a person in Hojai. Identified as Kamal Uddin, the man was unable to produce valid documents against the cash.

Similarly, the police also seized several lakhs of unaccounted cash from a hotel in Nagaon. Two people identified as Sakil Ahmed from Tinsukia and Jiten Goswami of Nagaon town have been detained in connection with the seizure.
