Shillong violence: Protestors attack CRPF camp

In a recent development, a group of around 400 protesters pelted stones at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp near Mawlai Bridge in shillong on Sunday night.

This incident occured after the police detained five people in connection with the clashes that broke out between two communities recently pertaining to intense arguments between a woman and a bus conductor on Thursday.

In wake of the incident, a curfew has been imposed from 4 PM on Monday to 5 AM Tuesday in the whole city till the unrest subsides. The police appealing to the public said, "We request the public not to take law in their hands and resolve the issue with talks," said CRPF Inspector General (IG) Prakash D.

As per reports, internet services still remain suspended in parts of the city.
